I didn't say I hated the speech.... I just don't need anyone to tell me that I love it in order for me to be patriotic.

The standing/non-standing is a gotcha point either way... It's almost as ridiculous as the pose of Kellyanne Conway. I don't give into gotcha points on either side. They exploit that BS to get away from the real issues and it gets more and more annoying. Remember, Sean Insanity and his friends need something to talk about for three hours a day, so they nitpick the hell out of every action and can make even the best things look ingenious and the mistakes look egregious -- it's what they do...and because Americans fall for it - it unfortunately works. I think I apply that standard evenly -- and I don't listen to the left when they do the same thing.

If he can deliver on the jobs/economy, he will have successfully cashed in on a low hanging fruit that could have been the Democrats' for the taking. Who the hell would have thought a Republican would ever talk this kind of thing.

The working people issues is a major consideration for me, and he talks a good game of paid leave...

It's true the Democrats alienated working class whites - but while the Republicans appealed to them -- they also drove a wedge between them and just about every other minority and the poorest of the poor.

That wedge driving is their hallmark... he only capitalized on their resentments.

If he can bring people together and bring jobs back -- great.....but actions count more than words.

As far as stock index, he's riding Obama's wave for now with maybe the prospects of optimism...but the higher they fly, the harder they fall...

I don't like Trump by a longshot -- but I'll respect what good might be accomplished --- and not what the propagandists feed me, but true trends.

Still I don't need any jackwagon telling me what's patriotic and what's not. The Republicans do not corner the market on patriotism, nor on values, nor on hard work... so I will laugh to shreds anyone who suggests people should not be free to criticize Trump..

It's my right to have my own opinion about the speech.
