FYI - To show this isn't just a Granite problem, the budget for Edwardsville shows that they are only bringing in about $15.3 million per year.
(Which goes to show how much it pays to have industry versus retail and expensive houses).
Yet, they probably have about as much in terms of road maintenance cost as Granite does, due to how far the town is spread out.
Their roads are relatively newer, so they'll have longer until their roads are in bad of shape as ours, but they will one day face the very same problem, and they're only spending $1.5 million per year on public works, currently.
