The Illinois Department of Transportation announced St. Thomas Road between the north and south intersections of Illinois 3 and West Chain of Rocks Road between St. Thomas Road and Old Alton Road will be intermittently restricted to one lane beginning Friday, June 10.
This work will take place daily between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. and is necessary to construct an oil-and-chip coating on these routes. This work is expected to be completed by the end of the month.
Delays are expected. The department advises motorists to follow construction signs and drive with caution through the work zones.
