I do understand what you're saying about the work they do Blu but it's still layered. duplicated services that could be done by a larger entity.
Example: If Pontoon and Granite merged, as was discussed forty years ago, the taxpayers would save the cost of one mayor, on clerk, on or more attorneys, clerical workers, etc...
Townships were very important to the development of the state when it was mostly rural. However, now they are merely fossilized creatures that should be laid to rest. It's being studied all over the state just as the merging of school districts.
The savings to the taxpayers would be huge. I'm not criticizing you or your group out there but it's obvious there's some dirty politics out there and that won't change.
