I spoke with a teacher friend and asked what became of this big forensic audit that we heard so much about before the last election. He smirked and said most of it was much to do about nothing. Apparently a small segment of the union and their leadership thought they could scare the board into giving up some cash for raises.
There's supposedly some new union leaders now who can actually read an audit and are satisfied no games are being played. He said it doesn't mean they still don't think their raises are deserved but he feels the union is much more reasonable now that some of the old leaders are gone.
He also asked me to remember who ran for school board last time and which one made issue of the audit? I'm researching that now as my memory isn't what it once was. LOL
just a little more food for thought.
