OK, what do you think about the student who wouldn't put down her cell phone?Archived Message

Her math teacher told her three times to put her phone away, the assistant principal came in and told her to put her phone away, and ultimately the school's resource officer was called in.
He asked her several times to get up. Then he physically got her up himself.
Now the defiant, disrespectful brat has an attorney and the police officer has been fired.
Things have sure come a long way since my days in school. First off, the teacher wouldn't have called anyone in, they would have handled it themselves, no matter how physical it became.
But not anymore. Rarely would you see a child who has been raised to be respectful act like this. But now, that kind of behavior, and lack of parenting, are producing more and more and more of these little thugs-in-training. And teachers and administrators have to second guess their reactions to brats like this.
Should the officer reacted this way? I am not sure after watching only a snippet of the video. I do know I would have at least considered it in my own mind...but not sure if I would have taken the chance of being thrown under the microscope.
And now he's lost his job. My husband says he wishes the GCPD would hire him.
