That's a ridiculous spin. There is no hypocrisy there... you act as though someone wants to take away your guns. This was an event about gun control, a very heated topic. This wasn't an everyday event. I'm sure it was felt that there could be some gun advocate nut cases who just might try to express his outrage with gun violence.
That's almost as stupid as saying the President is a hypocrite for having the Secret Service protect him and his family.
