Makes sense to me. I seem to remember the first such terrible action was the sniper at Texas University San Antonio (?) in 1969 (?). Such attacks have increasingly happened since, slowly building up in the last decade or two. We've always had guns. We haven't always had violent people who commit such horrible crimes.
Guns don't have any consciousness to cause someone to commit violent acts with them. So, what causes some to do so? I wonder if any studies have been done to determine what, if any, medications these violent people were taking? If so, we'll never hear about it. We mustn't intrude on pharmaceutical industries reputation, now, should we?
As a note, does anyone recall in the 80's when Ronald Reagan's budgeting resulted in many mentally disturbed turned out in the streets by doing away with their treatments from trained professionals? Can't remember the specifics, but I remember this happening. This means many mentally disturbed people were no longer being monitored and kept under watchful eyes by trained professionals...yet docs continue to prescribe medications for these same people. Maybe some of these mentally disturbed people who committed these acts might not have if they had proper and comprehensive care...and the "vital" budget cutting had not occurred (?).
