    Lowe's Rant Archived Message

You know I try to support local business whenever I get a chance. After all these companies make an investment here so being loyal should be easy.

That being said, I've had it with the Granite City Lowes store. Went there this afternoon to make a pretty substantial purchase. Walked past no fewer than eight employees, none of which said hello, need help?, kiss my ass, etc.....

Stayed in one particular area looking for the piece of equipment I needed and not one person offered assistance. I then walked around thinking, okay someone will surely say something. Wrong! There was a man in flooring texting on his phone. There were two young ladies complaining about their jobs.

I had a few things in my cart that I picked up on impulse. I parked the cart in one of the aisles and then left. The young kid in the garden center said, "did you find everything"? I just snickered and kept walking. I got in my car, drove to Glen Carbon and spent $400 at Home Depot instead. I could have purchased what I was looking for for a few dollars less at Lowes but the service completely sucked.

Here's a message to store operators. Money is valuable to people these days. They make their shopping choices based on several things and one of the top three in my mind is service. If Lowes does have a management staff I would suggest an employee meeting where you remind your useless staff who pays their wages. They cost you a several hundred dollar sale today and while that won't shut you down, my future choice will also be to stay away from your store.

There's no excuse for rude, negligent employees except for laziness or stupidity.
