I've got a different spin on this topic.
How stupid is a rule that each team provides it's own balls for their exclusive ues. The place kicker uses a different ball than the punter and so on. When possesion of the football changes, off the field comes one teams ball and in comes the other teams.
You don't see this type of stupidity in ANY other sport.
I agree that he cheated to gain an edge and should pay the price but look at it just like the following:
1. A baseball player putting too much pine tar on the bat. 2. A hockey player with too much curve on their stick. 3. A dad modifying the pine wood derby car.
All of it's cheating and that's why there are rules and penalties. But that rule make absoluelty no sense.
