I too will vote yes. I think this will pass by the narrowest of margins.

I don't think you'll find many people in this community who are anti-schools or kids. I do think there is a lack of trust of government on all levels including local.

Blago, Jackson Jr., Bathon............those are all names of Illinois politicians who have raped the trust of the people. They have created a lack of respect and confidence in leadership.

As I said earlier, if this does pass the school board will owe it to the people to maintain the spending reductions and to be as open as humanly possible with their finances. The unions will have to realize that the vote is for the kids, not for the employees and that we will be watching to make sure contracts are fair but reasonable. The years of tax and spend have to end.

I'm older than the average poster here. If I live ten more years I will invest approximately $3200 more toward school taxes. I figure I owe that to those of you who still have kids in school. If I see unbridled spending, bloated contracts, etc.... I will know that I've made mistake.

A large voter turnout will be the main factor. A low turnout will, in my opinion, favor the "yes" vote because of the special interest served.

It's a big vote for our community's future. Early voting is now open so let's all participate.
