Gotta support the local store and not Wallyworld.

Shop 'n Save is no more local than Wal-Mart, they are owned by SuperValu which is based out of Eden Prairie, MN. If that's going to be your reasoning then may I suggest Cionko's, Leroy's, Schnuck's, or even Dierbergs, they are truly local. I don't have a problem with Shop 'n Save, I shop there myself because they're cheaper, but at least use the right excuse.

    Copied from SV website:

"The retail banners that SUPERVALU owns and operates are trusted household names: CUB FOODS (65 stores) in Minneapolis-St. Paul; HORNBACHER'S (6 stores) in the Fargo-Moorhead area; SHOP 'N SAVE (45 stores) in St. Louis; SHOPPERS (56 stores) in Washington D.C.; and FARM FRESH (45 stores) in Virginia. Many of our grocery stores hold number 1 or number 2 market share positions.

    Hard discount stores

SUPERVALU owns and operates SAVE-A-LOT, the nation's leading hard discount grocery chain. Currently there are more than 1,170 SAVE-A-LOT stores in all types of neighborhoods -- urban, rural and suburban -- delivering savings of up to 40 percent compared to conventional grocery stores. Key SAVE-A-LOT markets are in the Midwest, east of the Mississippi, along the Eastern Seaboard from Maine to Florida, and Texas."
