Sorry to disappoint you Nick but the Township won't grow. In fact my guess is the dinosaur that it is will be extinct in the next few years. It's duplicate layer of government that provides no service that a bigger entity such as Granite, Edwardsville or Collinsville couldn't provide. Only because of greedy politicians thirty to forty year ago does this geographic area exist today. Pontoon, Granite, Mitchell and maybe even Madison should have been merged years ago. One mayor, one counsel, one emergency response agency with one chief. That would be too productive though and get in the way of the elected officials who don't see a bigger picture.
