Not as much to do with Granite as it did with the state. It seems like one representative wants to "level" the playing field and spread state money more evenly. Taking money from wealthier districts and giving to lower income districts and then leaving the burden of new income in those wealthier districts up to their local residents.

Hmmm! Robbing Peter to pay Paul at first impression. However, as I think about it districts like Granite that were once major industrial towns with big budget school districts lost industrial jobs and tax base due to bad political decisions at the state.

Then, people fled our town to move up the hill to E'ville where they could spend the money they made here and this verbally urinate on our town, their former home town.

So maybe it's time to rebuild the lower income districts with help from other sources. Ever been to a school district up in the Chicago subs? They're amazing. Their sports complexes make Granites' look like swiss cheese.

This whole thing still comes down to Illinois having to get their act together. We have lost jobs, driving down our taxpaying base. The dry up of the revenue streams has created more property taxes at the local level (US).

Anyway, sorry to alert everyone to the YPFI segment. It really didn't give much about the local issues.

    On two personal notes:

Mrs. Beverley Scroggins, you still look like you did forty years ago. LOL

Secondly, once again Channel 2 puts someone on the news that talks like a four year old, " I think it's stupid". Oh, can you say that on t.v.? All the while her four hundred pound husband is leaning off the couch and her irish setter is trying to jump on the camera guy. Can't we ever get someone on the news with half a brain? LOL
