Is this an attempt at sarcasm, it doesn't convey well when it's just typed. If you weren't part of the hearings how can you judge how much the city fought?
Who in the end is paying for the road to cut across the field? Will it be the railroad for reclaiming the crossing, Granite City for legally vacating the crossing as a public road, or the Village of Pontoon Beach to keep the residents of Tank Town happy?
