This is an interesting post for me. I know Mr. Callis and respect the fact that he did rise up from poor beginnings to achieve his status. Isn't that the American dream? I was born of poor parents and while I haven't achieved the wealth of Mr. Callis, I did quite well for myself and my family. I was able to do for my kids what my parents would have done for me if they could.

I'm glad my kids were able to go to college on my dollar. I'm glad they won't have to work in the bowels of some factory. I want them to have a good life.

Has the fact that Mr. Callis achieved political notoriety been a surprise? No. Often times people in professional, successful businesses are sought out by political leaders as allies.

Don't lay that on the Dems only whisker. I've given a fair share of money to some GOP candidates over the years.

I've said before that it's no crime to be wealthy, especially if you worked your way up from the bottom. How Lance Callis spends his money is his business since he's the one who worked for it.

The poor can and will always blame the rich for their problems. Some of the problem rest with the fact that those people wouldn't work in a mill, go to law school and risk their own money to start a practice.

Until a truly poor person (and not one like Obama pretends to be) runs for President and wins, this game of politics will always be a rich man's game.
