This whole story just seems a little off to me. I agree with W.O.G. on this one. There are adults who would love to be able to do something along these same lines, with the same amount of love or passion. But, along with the love and passion they also have the need and the drive to do it in order to help support their family. The amount of red tape and absurd guidelines make it as close to impossible as it gets. I understand that a child would not be aware of these guidelines but you can not convince me that her parents were not aware of at least some of them and they had to know it was just a matter of time before the word got out and someone stepped up and put a halt to this kid's cupcake business. I can't help being slightly suspicious of the chain of events and how this all unfolded. The newspaper article, and then the big disappointing news that the business has to stop. Then news coverage of the little happy go lucky, positive attitude cupcake baking little girl and the big bad government crushing all her hopes and dreams and trying to kill her passion for baking. Hmmmm, I'm curious to see just how long it will take before you read about some big online fundraiser being talked up and shared via facebook and any other means possible to raise enough money to remodel the kitchen in the parents house to make it commercial grade so the baking "dream" can continue.
