IF I am still applicable (had to renew), I will be getting $11 - $15 less. Not a big deal for one person, and I'm thankful that I don't have to solely rely on them. However, for a family of 4, $35 (I think was the amount), that are counting pennies, that's quite a bit, especially if you're trying to keep it healthy for the kids (another thing I'm thankful I don't have to worry about). Remember, that this is hurting more then just "the lazy". There are almost 700,000 social security disability claims going through the system right now. It takes an average of 2 years before a claimant goes before a judge, where 2/3's of the approvals happen. That's a long time to be broke and trying to survive. That being said, I don't think there should be riots. The time for protesting should have happened when the bill was going through congress. I DO wish they had cut Congress' expense accounts before they cut food stamps for the poor. They have $100 dinners that are paid for by tax dollars, but families have to figure out how to stretch the food even more to cover the multiple meals that the $35 would have paid for.
