I have never, ever, ever, had to be Welfare However at 79, I do get Social Security. In California I paid into it, in Nevada, we had a contribution when you worked for the State of Nevada, you could collect from the State. I worked for 18 years, my husband worked for 30 years when he retired. He also worked in Chicago before he moved to Nevada. Sandy S
