Okay, I'm not usually in to theater and such but I can tell you that the Granite City High theater department should be proud as hell of their production of Brighton Beach Memoirs.

Mrs. O. drags me to theater and such to keep me classy. We've had season tickets to the muny forever. We go to the Fox at least once a year and have seen many great plays there. These kind of things buy me seven or eight extra golf outings a year so I go along.

The play at the high school last night was well directed, well peformed and you wouldn't believe the sets. They have a two story set that looks like it should be on Broadway. I'm sitting there thinking, they must rent this stuff and have a company bring it in. Nope! Mr. Manoogian (sp) and his students build these sets, work the lights and organize the entire production.

Well done kids. Bravo and Encore. What a treasure at GCHS.
