I worked at a bank for 13 years. We had to fill out forms for cash deposits exceeding $3,000.00 for the purpose of tracking accounts that were exceeding $10,000.00 in cash over a 24 hour period. It was aimed at persons laundering cash, who knew how the system worked and were keeping their deposits under the limit to avoid the feds from taking a closer look at their accounts. This made sense to me at the time.
What they have done to these obviously hard working people, who are making a living running a respectable business is unacceptable. The whole point was to monitor where the cash was coming from. It was easy enough to figure out that people who were unemployed and depositing that kind of cash, were probably selling drugs or laundering cash for someone else.
Very disgusted with what our government is getting away with. I hope these people get their money back with interest.
