I find it offensive that some union leader is threatening to sue a county to allow teachers to dress like street urchins.

I guess I'm old fashioned but I expect teachers to be examples to their students. Do they need to wear a suit? No, but they should be expected to wear a pair of slacks and a dress shirt. Women should wear a professional looking skirt/blouse or a nice pair of slacks. Does it make them better at their job? Maybe not but it just might show the kids that there are standards to live by in a "professional" environment.

I hope the union leaders do sue and the court hands them their collective asses. I remember years ago here in Granite there was a big stink about teachers wearing "unprofessional" attire. Why do you even have to address "professional dress" with a teacher?

Walk into a courtroom as an attorney dressed like a clown and see what the judge tells you.

Come on adults. Stop acting like the kids you're entrusted with.
