Yes, really. The whole notion of a "white hispanic" has me wondering about my own ethnicity. I'm 7/8 white, and 1/8 native american, does that make me a 'non-white caucasian' a 'white native american' a 'non-native indian' or a 'native American white' ?
From a census perspective I believe you would simply put white.
However, on a personal level your ethnicity relates to the culture you identify with while race demonstrates your physical characteristics. Having never seen you, I would imagine your race would be white and your ethnicity would depend on how much you identify with your Native American roots. The only reason this story made so much news, is because the news companies knew they would make a ton of money on the baiting and selling of a big racial controversy.
The reason this made so much news is because of the non traditional media. This case blew up on twitter and facebook well before it made its way to cnn.
CNN is the first place I ever heard 'white hispanic', a term they coined to help this story happened.
Again, white hispanic is a term that has been around well before this case. Any online job application with an eeoc component will list that as an option. If the story was reported factually such as "police say man killed teen in self defense", this story would have never blown up.
Again, this blew up well before any network put it on the air.
while the child was on his way home from getting skittles narrative"
I dont understand how this part fits some false narrative, he literally was on his way home from buying skittles. Now you see it as being an obvious case of self defense. I dont see it being obvious one way or another. My biggest complaint about the entire matter is who initiated the confrontation. Unfortunately, only one person is alive to tell their side of the story.
