T'was the night before elections! Archived Message

T'was the night before elections and all through
    our town,
tempers were flaring, all those signs to rip down.

Me in my bath robe, my wife in hers too,
sat discussing the candidate who wants not one paycheck, but two.

When all of a sudden there arose such a noise,
it was Baker and Kohler with both of their boys.

They wanted my Beckland sign, my PAC campaign sign too,
the one where Tammy Hanfelder's name was marked through.

One sat in the car, under the glare of a light,
could it be, surely not, Mr. Kohler's young bride?

Their leader Mr. Baker was no where to be found,
he was off spreading gravel for a voter's private ground.

In return for a vote that would keep him secure,
in a job he was handed, he stunk like manure.

They snatched up my signs as quick as a wink,
jumped back in her car as I gagged on the stink.

On Edward! On Megan! Oh where the hell is Mark?
We need to run over those signs in State Park!

Protecting there jobs and money at all cost,
Megan made a wrong turn and they almost got lost!

But slowly and surely they made their way back,
content they had surely put an end to the PAC.

They never expected to be caught like they were,
and from Baker and Kohler, not a single damn word.

Tomorrow's our chance to put an end to this crap,
backdoor deals, special treatment, so don't be a sap!

Go by car, by bus, by train or by boat, it doesn't matter how you get there, just get there and VOTE!
