GCSD is laying off 9 teachers and some permanent building subs. Who did not think this was coming. There was no way they were going to avoid laying off teachers with their restructuring plan. As long as the state is in financial ruins every school district will have shortfalls. GCSD9 budget will never be balanced along with every other school district in Illinois. These layoffs will save them 500, 000 dollars. Which is not a lot considering the millions they are behind.
