Thanks Machine! Not to be disrespectful, but in the nature of academia, it’s “you’re the kid” rather than “your”.
Second, I hardly consider myself a “kid”, and anyone who has actually talked with me would agree. I’ve offered the public many different avenues for contacting me since I ran for the Board two years ago. In that election, I received between 2200 and 2300 votes. I highly doubt but cannot prove that those people voted for a “kid” as opposed to a bright, hard-working, and courageous young man who simply wanted (and still wants to) make a positive difference in this community.
My ideas are not complicated nor ingenious, which is why I cannot understand why the district has not implemented them already. I want to bring a new perspective to the Board, one that asks questions instead of always saying “yes”. I want to stop wasting money, and I would like to rehire a district grant-writer so that we can attain money that is available from the public and private sector. This will help ease the burden of taxpayers throughout the community. As a board member, I want to focus on academics and curriculum. I will fair. I will be intelligent. I will be faithful to the children who deserve a quality education, and I will be respectful of the taxpayers and community-members who put me in the position.
