I once tried to have a civil conversation about race right after Obama was elected.
I said flat out the Republicans have a demographics problem.
When I start the conversation on race..it seems some go ballistic and accuse me of playing the race card...even when talking about empirical data concerning the vote.
But today they are eerily silent when the race card is dropped. It's dropped by people who know they have no arguments in the topic at hand...so they have to come up with a diversion...
"Oh yeah, well the Democrats are racist."
Now you and I know that's a very off based argument.
They further shoot themselves in the foot when they know better for certain voters than certain voters are able to know for themselves.
I wonder where the outcry is on this one. I guess if it's a right winger making argument, certain people would choose to stay silent.
It's a shame because there are some very intelligent posters who make good compelling arguments.
But they would rather stand with certain fringe posters who compare Obama to Hitler. The people who said nothing I still respect very much... the people who compare any politician to Hitler either Democrat, Republican or Independent... I will no longer talk to.
So whenever I talk about race...these people had their chance to decry the use of the race card as it was being played against the Democratic Party...ergo...if I am to post about race...then either engage the topic or leave me alone. This rubbish about Democrats being racist has lasted two days. I should henceforth be able to bring up issues of race, and expect not to be lambasted for bringing up the issue.
If the ones who dropped the race card in this topic were not lambasted...then when I talk race, I should expect not to get lambasted when I mention a topic that deals with race and I should expect not to be accused of playing the 'race card' ever again.
Maybe it's good these fringe posters weren't lambasted for their rubbish.
Because no one has the right to say anything if nad when I should post about demographics or race.
