I agree.
The reason the township election is getting so dirty is because the handful of families who have made the township their own personal, tax funded enterprise are finally realizing that everyone has just about had enough of it.
Their private gravy train may be taking it's final run.
There isn't a large amount of money to be made for the village trustees, and absolutely no money to be made by being elected to the school board.
BUT THERE'S A WHOLE LOT OF MONEY TO BE MADE IN THE TOWNSHIP.
And those who have been making it are terrified it just might be coming to an end.
That's why they have lost their minds, posting the threads that they are.
Wouldn't you be a little ticked if you were raking in well over forty thousand working for the highway department, and sneaking an opportunity to double that salary by running for an elected position that you plan on having without resigning your other position, and people were exposing you for it? Rumors of digging into digital payroll records? And accusations of campaigning on township time. (Which by the way, is common place by those already in position)
Wouldn't you be terrified if you had no valid driver's license, which is required to do the job you are being paid for, and your boss chooses to look the other way, if your boss's position may be coming to an end if not elected? Think about it. Man, you would jump on his bandwagon, wouldn't you?
I, for one, am sick of it. And there's nothing more frightening for these people than the taxpayers being "sick of it".
Read through their posts....you can smell the fear.
