Cuts are going to have to be made everywhere. There's no tomorrow when it comes to government spending. Unfortunately we in Illinois are in the most severe position of all the states. Our politicians and the exodus of big business has left this state broke.

Local government will have to tuck it in and do the right thing.Townships are an old form of government some fifty years out of date in most cases. The local school district has taken a great first step in reducing their expenditures but will it be enough? Losing state revenue isn't going to change. Will they continue cuts? Will the administration lead the way and not continue spending? Will vacancies such as the Greenwald/Gagich move be filled? The district should be able to save that salary. Will people replacing retirees be paid as much or more than their predecessor? They shouldn't be.

I think dark times are still ahead. I hope I'm wrong.
