OK, my 2 cents, Dee, I half way agree with both you and Opi. I agree with Opi, in that justice should have been done, not responding would invite more attacks. However, like you say, there is a place for forgiveness, I just saw a report on ABC Sunday morning, about 2 9/11 widows who have made it their life's mission to help widows in Afghanistan, "Beyond the 11th", they called their organization, and it changed their lives for the better.... I am frustrated, however that even the the main Al-Qaida network has been destroyed, and Bin Laden has been killed, that we are still in Afghanistan 10 years later, and we are in Iraq nearly 8 years later (which had nothing to do with 9/11, we should have never invaded Iraq). Our job in Afghanistan is done, bring them home! In fact, I wonder if we should have taken a completely different approach with Afghanistan and the war on terror altogether, instead of a complete invasion of Afghanistan, maybe we should have just limited it to helping the rebels who were already there, and fighting the Taliban, (they called themselves the Northern Alliance), and limited American troop involvements to air raids, and limited special forces raids against important targets, maybe then we still wouldn't have close to 100,000 troops 10 years later. In fact, instead of invasions, maybe we should create special forces units patterned after Israel's spy agency, Mossad. Instead of invasions to find a few terrorists, use spies/assassins to hunt them down individually. It works well for Israel, why not us as well? Who knows, maybe I'm a little weary of large scale wars, but think about it, I'm 22 years old, I was just short of 12 when 9/11 happened, which means for nearly half of my lifetime, there has been 2 full scale wars and invasions carried out by the US, plus our assistance to NATO in Libya, and strikes against targets in Pakistan and Yemen by US forces, maybe it gives me a little different perspective than most around here...
