I've had one a couple of times. Mine got pretty bad and lasted about a week each. I went to my regular eye doctor first but he couldn't do anything about it and sent me to an eye specialist, I don't remember the name, but it's behind Granite City Credit Union. There, they gave me some type of eye-drops that I had to put in three times a day. Cleared up pretty quick after that though, thank goodness! Your child's eye sounds like mine did, I would have it checked out as soon as you can!
