jdg, there shouldn't be a problem with your kids' accounts. If the bank were to close the accounts due to inactivity, they would notify you first. Then if you had moved and they had no way to get in touch with you, they would turn the money in to the state's unclaimed property. You can go to the state treasures website and do a search to see if you have any unclaimed property. My brother found that my dad had $100 on there from after he closed his business and my mom was able to claim it.
