It's true, I don't remember so many people having food allergies when I was young. My daughter developed an allergy to fresh fruit when she was a teenager, and hasn't been able to eat it since. And she loves fruit. I started having an allergic reaction to wheat so I gave up eating anything with whole wheat. But after having some stomach problems and other health issues, I've had to almost give up eating anything with wheat altogether. My neice's little boy has a severe peanut allergy that sent him to the hospital once. They have to be very careful about what he eats when they go out. It's really sad that money has become more important in this country than the health of the people. What can we do as consumers, other than buy more organic foods?
