3D, I have to disagree. While we have made huge advances in acceptances in social acceptance and justice.... we have given up so much freedom and innocence in the process that we are a more restrictive society than any American generation in history. When I was a kid (60's and 70's) we could run the streets and our parents didn't have to worry. We didn't have to have metal detectors in schools. We could drive a car without a seat belt and smoke a cigarette without the threat of a $175 fine. We were allowed to make choices and mistakes without Government interference in every aspect of our lives. I fear our best days are behind us, and if they are not it is going to be very painful to get back to where we once were.
