The insurance I have covers me and my car should I collide with an uninsured motorist. I would imagine a similar insurance policy is available in New Hampshire. The point is, if one chooses to be insured he still can be, and if one cannot afford insurance, he can still drive legally. Fact check me because I may not be exactly right about this; but I believe about 20% of the cars on the road in this state are not insured, even with a law stating they must... So why have the law? My Lincoln still might get totaled. If I was under the assumption that the responsible party['s insurance] would always pay out, I might not have the extra coverage I carry. In New Hampshire, no one is under that impression.
