If you have read a lot of my posts closely, you'll see that my approval for Obama has waned a lot.

I was thoroughly disgusted when George W. left office and his presidency only made the Obama hype more believable. He was the non-Bush, the Anti-Bush, almost.

I recall calling McCain, 'McSame' or 'More of the Same'. I pretty much think that McCain would not have been any better of an option.

The one thing Obama has in his favor as far as I am concerned is the plan for withdrawal from Afghanistan and Iraq. The Libya thing - at least the US didn't take this cowboy mentality but joined an international coalition.

Now that leaves the economy -- could it have been handled better?

I think his major blunder is HEALTH CARE. Now I am a public option supporter - if it can be done right. And I admit the public option is a matter of the heart for me far more than the head.

But when we are near depression and in a deep recession - it is not the time to implement a spending initiative like this.

I would have loved to have seen some small reforms of the health care system. Bringing costs in line would have been a start.

The Republicans who flippantly say "We got the best system in the world", are out of touch with reality in more ways than one, with cost being the main consideration. There are too many horror stories out there -- meanwhile these pharmaceutical companies are running 3 minute commercials over the air -- and then sticking to them at the pharmacy counter.

Obama is a blunderer and I believe he is propped up by special interests.

But the problem is this Washington culture is breeding these people left and right.

No doubt about it, there will be no breath of fresh air if we keep sticking with the two party system. We will continue to vote DUMB so DUMBER does not get elected.

It plays well into the hands of MSNBC and Faux News (sorry for those that offends) and it keeps the level of vitriol and rivalry alive and well in the world and even on beautiful Granite City Gossip.

But at the same time the Republicans are jockeying for position and Obama is making some desperate last-ditch policy decisions -- these third party people can't be waiting for the buzz to end about the primaries.

You would think enough Americans are POed at the current system as it is.

However, regretably, I am not inclined to go more Libertarian.

I am all for a third party... but not if it is going to be more fringe in nature.

It all depends who runs. Paul is not out of my league for consideration either.
