My 25-year old brother recently got a promotion that included a new life insurance policy, and he listed me as the beneficiary. I asked him what he wanted as his final plans and he said "burn me, go to the bar and celebrate my life." So after discussing it, we realized that basically that's the final plans of everyone in my family.
I have a family friend who died and wanted her ashes spread in 3 places that were special to her, and the remaining 25% combined with the ashes of her husband so that when he dies, she will be spread with him too. I think that's one of the coolest things I've heard, and that's also my plan. I've just got to come up with some awesome places special to me so that if I die before my husband, he'll get to go to some great places on my behalf.
