And because it's East St. Louis, watch our posters be suspicious.
Nothing like being proud of the KIDS who beat the odds and EARNED their diploma.
No, let's be suspicious of the process.
The length some people go.
They accuse me of 'playing the card.'
But a diploma is a diploma, and 90% of East St. Louis seniors EARNED IT.
It's not me plying the card this time because a fact is a fact.
Some other people are playing the card because they do not want anyone in East St. Louis to succeed.
Some group works with the district and the students and provides mentoring, and the unthinkable happens. The trend is reversed.
But that's not good enough for the enlightened of Granite City. People of East St. Louis must always be dropouts and on the way to crime and poverty and they must never be able to pull themselves up, and if they do, then the process must be suspicious. Yup, some people go great lengths and show their true colors in the process.
What of 90% of East St. Louis graduates threatens you?
Oh my...THEY'RE LEARNING down there in East St. Louis!! They might outsmart Granite City someday.. Oh no!!!
