Take it easy, these seem like the kind of people that put every thing on plastic

    Huge assumption, and immaterial.

The rich are rich, the "sacrifices" this author speaks of are nothing but fantasies of luxuries to the rest of us.

My "arborist" is fifty two years old, and uses a twenty five year old ladder, a hack saw and some kind of chain saw on a stick thing he bought at Rural King.

My "gardner" is plants bought from Home Depot or WalMart, a big old bag of Miracle Grow potting soil (IF it's on sale) and an old watering can and hose. Her knees are screaming by the time she's finished.

Our "summer get togethers" consist of, "Hey, I'll bring potato sale", "I'll bring baked beans", "I'll bring dessert." while the hubs pats out burgers and prepares hot dogs, and pork steaks if Cionko's or Leroy's have them on sale, or have had them on sale in recent times.

Vacations are saved for ALL YEAR LONG and well planned out. And while on these vacations we witness HUNDREDS AND HUNDREDS, if not thousands, of empty, vacant, unused beautiful summer homes owned by the rich who might visit them once or twice a year. If you want a true grasp on how rich the rich are, and how many rich there are, go to any beach community. Honestly, I never knew that many rich people existed, ones who could afford multi-million dollar beach homes that weren't utilized. I imagine they make for a good tax break, depreciation wise. Their outdoor furniture is probably worth more than our car.

Our "new summer wardrobe" is what we bought at the end of the season last summer. To the devil with the new spring fashions. We aren't fashionistas!

All in all, I agree with all of the comments regarding this article. I don't think I read one post from anyone who was in agreement with this nitwit.

My oh my, the crosses the rich must bare. Not that there is anything wrong with being well off or wealthy, but to be so far removed from the way ninety eight percent of the general population lives, it speaks volumes.
