The incident, described as a domestic argument, is under investigation. Police aren't releasing names and no charges have been filled.
Granite City police Maj. Jeff Connor said the suspect, identified as a man in his 30s, broke into a home in the 2500 block of Iowa Street around 11:30 p.m. and attacked a 59-year-old male resident. The resident was able to pull a knife and stabbed the suspect several times. The suspect was eventually taken to a St. Louis hospital,
