I'd hate to be the engineer in charge of making that decision. It was probably the right thing to do though.
And to think that we, along with dozens of other cities, could all be facing once again the same situation as Cairo. Perhaps this'll influence our politicians to build up our levees at least a few feet higher than those across the river
