Read it closer, is it a square red and white sign that says "City of Granite City" on it? If so, contrary to popular belief, it does not mean it is condemned, it simply means that the house for some reason is unfit for occupancy, anyone currently living there must leave, and no one can move in until problems are fixed, and inspection can be done. City inspectors call it "red tagging". If it is a more rectangular sign (longer verically than horizontally) that has a white background, and a long legal notice on it, then yes, it is condemned. Either way, read it further to be sure.....
