Furthermore, my Gospel preaching was this...and if I was adamant, I would go search my archive...but it's no matter, when I'm right I'm right so I can almost put out the argument verbatim:
I said "based on the facts and figures of last School board election, it appears that the winners only won by a small margin. IF you really want reform, all you need to do is run for office or stand behind someone you believe in and just get about 300 people to vote for that person."
and
"If people really wanted Change, they could almost propose a change slate and if they mobilized people to vote, they would win easily."
I know these things because I saw how low the turnout was. I also saw the areas of town where it was low, and yes, the lower the cost of the house, the lower probability of getting a vote.
But still if someone cared to scour these areas and really pushed hard, they could have done something.
Well here in 2011, we did get a good base of candidates at least, and I know some worked really hard to do it.
I'm just reminding you of what I said before, because people think everything is controlled by a 'Good Ole Boys' club.
All I can say is that if the "Bad Ole Boys" club ever wanted to form and give em some hell, it would be easy to topple the 'establishment' if indeed you dislike the establishment.
Now if voting here was at 80%, I could see a little problem...people would just have to work harder getting out the message.
But since turnout is so low, there is tremendous opportunity for anyone that would have wanted to affect change.
I like this slate of candidates and I retain how I voted, but I just wish more would have participated.
