I used to live out of the city limits next to a big patch of woods. The entire 12 years I battled with moles and hired several pest control companies to try and get rid of them. They all told me that trapping is the only sure way to get them but no matter what, new moles would return. I grew tired of paying $50 per mole trapped so I bought traps (not the spike type that you get at Loewe's etc.) and researched doing it myself. They will eat any kind of worms and insects. Using grub control helps but the moles will travel farther looking for food and actually tear up the yard even more. I remember trying the vibration devices but that never seemed to help either. I probably killed around 50 moles over the years and like I said, they always came back.
