A friend in Northern Illinois once asked why I do not have a strong accent.
I told them that if they wanted to hear a Granite City accent, tune to the local CBS affiliate, and listen for Peter Maer at the top of the hour news.
Either way, Peter is a terrific man. He has come back to the area and is in touch with local organizations. For instance he once spoke at SIUE for their commencement.
He seems like a class act. I know he is a top notch reporter.
