under reagan and bush debt soared due to war and military expenses - under obama the debt is soaring because he has decided to help american people...not rebuild other nations.
I am not a republican, could you please stop bringing bush and reagon into every thread, as if I view them in high regard. Obama has continued almost all of the bush spending, including war and nation building... And bailing out banks of other nations... Spend spend spend.... Pile up more debt... Lets just give our birthrights to china already...
(Reagons military spending did help to win the cold war, but since your an admitted socialist, I bet you were rooting for the Ruskies anyway)
but i fail to see how ALL government expansion and growth is bad.
There may be a govornment program out there that should be expanded, I just cant think of one off the top of my head. The role and budget of the government can and should be reduced by at least 2/3 it's current level.
i mean - what you are literally saying is - screw the highways, schools, military, airports, railroads, any program that prevents starvation in this country, screw all programs that provide a safety net for our most vulnerable citizens, screw any government agency that attempts to combat fraud or crime or even terrorism, screw any government agency that exists or could exist.
That's not what said at all. (Perhaps you should look up literally) The government has the constitutional authority to build roads. The (federal) government ought not be involved in education, (states/city's should) Railroads are privatly owned and maintained, as are some airports, many other countries have allowed for the privatization of airports/air traffic contoll with great success. (the TSA and NSA should be totally dissolved) All those "help the poor" policies, can and should be done by charity.
screw any government agency that exists or could exist. And by saying so - you basically promote an out-dated perception of society that advocates chaos and/or anarchy
No there is a need for a small federal government, a much smaller federal government. Not the bloated burocracy we currently have. o
I promote a constitution based government, that promotes the blessings of liberty.
Government programs, not clearly permitted by the consistitution, should be handled by the states, or the people.
if it is a government of the people - by the people for the people - then what is wrong with our government providing jobs and agencies that improve the standard of living?
I find this humorus, you quote the great emancipator, and promote government policies that (by design or not) enslave people to the government...
maybe some added literature on the subject (which i have an abundance of) or an open-mind to an idea outside of the solitary one you have firmly planted in your mind might help you grow as a person.
Might I suggest you read the ideas of our founders. They were far smarter than you, I, and the next ten readers of this post combined.
