In this story, this guy wanted to fix his garage door opener and ended up falling from the ladder and dying. It happened in Madison, unfortunately.
It's not just a matter of checking on the folks, but getting it in their minds to ask for help.
It's a bear to lose some of that independence.
I have a loved one exactly that age and have the same concern, and they sometimes don't want the help...or they watch every move to the point no one wants to help.
All drama aside, it might be worth it to have those difficult conversations and go through the hassle.
