"Blizzard Of 2011" = One Big Joke. Here's My 'So Sorry' BitArchived Message

Hindsight is 20-20.
Two or three days ago, this laugher of a storm indeed looked like a monster that was poised to dump a ton of snow on St Louis, and it looked that way right up until about 9 or 10 this morning, when it became apparent that the forecast cold air was going to stay north and leave us in the sleet window.
Lots of folks got more that a foot of snow out of this storm. Just, not us.
The storm has pretty much dried up around here as of 7 PM, and the predicted huge wrap-around snow is nowhere to be found. Nowhere, I say. We might be in for two or three inches of wrap snow overnight, but that's about it.
So, here's my official mea culpa for what turned out to be a botched weather prediction. But that's more than you're gonna get from the local news stations that pre-empted programming all afternoon to jump up and down and run around in circles like little rabid spider monkeys.
And, I don't get PAID to blabber about the weather. So there's that, too. Yeah. You can't fire me, cause this isn't my job, so pthhtthhttbthhhthtbbb!!
Anyway...If you see me around town and feel the need to walk up and kick me right in the butt, please feel free to do so, but yell something before you do it, like "HEY NORAD, I'M ABOUT TO KICK YOU RIGHT IN THE BUTT FOR THAT BOTCHED FORECAST ON GCG! HOLD STILL, FOOL!"
Y' know...a little advance warning? And please..no kicking my butt with the toe of your shoe. Either piston your foot out or use the side. And don't do it in the middle of the bank or Schnuck's. Awkward!
Anyway, that's pretty much it. Dave Murray on FOX 2 was yelling about a total of ten inches of snow by tomorrow morning as late as the 6 PM newscast.
But it's pretty obvious that it ain't happening. I'm curious to see the way this is handled on the 10 PM newscasts. Those guys get PAID to scare the bejesus out of everyone, and they blew this one, big time. Even the NWS dropped the ball.
Me? I'm humbled, but I'll get over it. I'll be back blowing sunshine up your skirt in no time.
