When I watched this with my children I cried. Not just because it touched me but because I was ashamed. I feel I am a good person but I cannot compare to this gentleman. How many times do we knowingly or unknowingly ignore someones pain. How many times a day do we walk past somebody and never see their needs or their pain. How many of us have hid behind our keyboards and spewed hatred and insults at other, feeling safe in our anonymity. secure as their judge, jury and executioner from the safety of our warm, safe homes? This man not only feeds the hungry, he bathes, shaves, blesses and touches everyone of them. Those society have thrown away for whatever reason. I challenge everyone of you to get out from behind the safety of your computer and make a difference in one persons life just once a month. Small by Narayanan standards. Yet if everybody did this we could change the world. I for one commit to being kinder, to reach out to those who I believe I have the power to help. To refuse to turn a blind eye and to truly touch others. My girls have also made this pledge and they also challenge each and everyone of you. I dare you to watch this with dry eyes.
