He was called to serve - I mean none of the federal officers from the Executive or Legislative branches are actually living in their home towns unless they are located within an hour or two. Would that mean that Jerry Costello couldn't run for mayor of Belleville (not that he would)? I side with Rahm on this one. It seems that the other candidates are looking out for particular interests and it seems like Rahm's vision is for everyone. I don't know much about this election, I'll be honest. But I did read where Jesse Jackson and a few other 'Reverends' got together to strongarm one of the other Candidates to drop out so that the black support could be galvanized behind one candidate. Maybe the practice is good so that one's voice has a better chance of being heard - but it is a shameless use of the race card. So it makes me wonder who's left to take care of the entire city without distinction and not just one who is the voice of one group of people. Like I said, I haven't read much about the race up there, just this battle of Rahm to stay on the ballot and the other article about asking one candidate to drop out so it could galvanize one segment of society.
